Lesson Preparation

Students are expected to come prepared for lessons. This means that you have worked on technique as recommended in your lessons and studied and practiced your repertoire. Please come with questions and concerns that have arisen during your week of practice. Lessons are designed for you to receive help on your technique, sight reading, understanding of theory, and interpretation of repertoire. Treat me as a consultant in your own journey as a musician. In order to progress you must set aside time each day for concentrated practice. Daily practice keeps your tasks and goals on the front burner, so that you build on what you did the day before. This is how you progress and reach your goals.

Recitals

Recitals are offered twice per year, usually October/November and April/May. The fee for hall rental is typically $30-$35 per student. Voice students must also hire an accompanist. Usually an arrangement can be made for approximately $90 per singer for two songs. If Chris accompanies, the fee is $50 for two songs.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds or make-ups are offered.  Occasionally you may have 5 lessons in a calendar month. This fifth lesson can be considered a makeup in the event that you had to miss a lesson due to a conflict, vacation, or illness.

If you must miss a lesson, you may send a family member or friend for a lesson instead. This can be for piano, voice, or theory.
